March 7th -10th, Chen Yongxin( General Manager of CBMIE) visited Saint Lucia. Allen Chastanet (Prime Minister of Saint Lucia) and members of parliament met with Chen Yongxin.
Prime Minister Allen Chastanet and members of parliament held a welcome dinner. Allen Chastanet delivered a speech. He showed his warm welcome to the group. He emphasized that Saint Lucia is a country with beautiful natural scenery, rich natural resource, great investment environment, excellent education opportunity, good living conditions, and great development potential. Saint Lucia will pay more effort in tourism, construction of infrastructure, and international cooperation. The government and all citizens require a great change to improve national welfare. Allen Chastanet welcomed Chinese enterprises to invest in Saint Lucia. Saint Lucia will provide convenience in approval process for investment, business cooperation, and tax deduction.
Bureau of Investment of Saint Lucia introduced strengths in strategic geographic location, free foreign exchange policy, stable political and economic environment, free personal income tax and capital, world tourism, etc. The Bureau emphasized on plans of infrastructure construction of port, bridge, airport, expressway, medical facility, research institute, etc, development priorities of entertainment industry in luxury travel, resort, art and culture, plan in exploit of modern agriculture and intelligent manufacturing. The Bureau welcomed Chinese enterprises to trade and to invest in Saint Lucia.
The group visited Pearl of the Caribbean, which is the first world class large integrated project in Saint Lucia. This project includes hotel, coastal villa, duty-free store, racetrack, entertainment venues, etc, which covers three development areas about 1,000 arcs.
Chen Yongxin introduced CNBM Group especially plans for further internationalization of CBMIE. Under the “One Belt, One Road” initiative, he hoped to build broader and deeper cooperation with Saint Lucia government and enterprises with the advantages of investment environment and development potential of Saint Lucia. Moreover, he hoped to build cooperation with other member countries of Caribbean Community.
Wang Lihe (Vice General Manager of CBMIE) and Ma Wensheng (General Manager of CNBM International South Africa) accompanied the visit.
